Ideal Home reports that IKEA’s STRÅLA LED tree is a 150 cm-tall, stainless-steel light display shaped like a Christmas tree, priced at £25. Its narrow design and built-in lights offer an alternative for homes without room for a full-size tree; the report does not provide details on availability, power source or exact light modes.
IKEA’s STRÅLA LED tree is a 150 cm-tall, tree-shaped light display priced at £25, according to a report by Ideal Home. Rather than using branches, the narrow decoration takes its shape from warm, twinkling fairy lights, offering a Christmas display for people who do not have space for a conventional tree.
The product is described as being made from stainless steel and formed into a tree shape by its lights. Ideal Home says it has multiple festive lighting modes and can be used indoors or outdoors. The source does not list the modes or specify the conditions for outdoor use, so buyers should check IKEA’s product information for current instructions and specifications.
Its main practical difference from a full-size artificial or real tree is its narrow profile. It does not have sprawling branches, and the built-in lights mean it can serve as a standalone illuminated decoration rather than requiring separate strings of fairy lights. The report presents it as an option for a corner, under stairs, or an outdoor patio, though those placement suggestions are from the publication, not a stated IKEA installation guide.
Ideal Home gives the price as £25. Prices, stock and product details can vary over time, and the source does not state how long the item will be available or whether it is in stock at every IKEA location. The article also does not provide measurements for the base or the width of the display, details that could affect where it fits in a small home.
A Tree Alternative for Tight Spaces
For people in flats or smaller homes, a standard Christmas tree can take up valuable floor space, especially when its branches extend into walkways or furniture areas. The STRÅLA offers a vertical, narrow display that may fit where a bushy tree would not. That makes it relevant to shoppers who want a recognisable festive light display without committing a large part of a room to a tree.
The £25 price and integrated lighting also make the product a relatively simple decor option: it does not require ornaments or a separate light string to create its illuminated look, according to Ideal Home’s description. It is still a decorative light, not a substitute for every feature of a traditional tree. The report gives no information about brightness, energy use, durability or whether the lighting is replaceable, all of which may matter to prospective buyers.

A Compact Alternative to Full Trees
Ideal Home’s report frames the STRÅLA as part of the seasonal challenge of decorating a small home. It notes that artificial Christmas trees can occupy substantial floor space, while real trees may shed needles. In contrast, this product is described as a light-based tree shape without bushy branches. Those comparisons reflect the publication’s discussion of decorating trade-offs rather than a direct product test included in the source material.
The report also places the product among other compact festive decorations, including small tabletop trees and bare-branch light displays from other retailers. Its focus is on the STRÅLA’s combination of tree outline, warm lights and compact footprint, rather than a broader announcement about IKEA’s seasonal range. The source does not state when the product was introduced or whether it is a new release.
“The STRÅLA LED tree is perfect for those amongst us who still want the twinkle and glitter of Christmas, even if they lack the space for a full-size tree.”

Product Details Buyers Still Need
The source does not confirm current availability or stock, nor does it give a date for the product’s launch or specify whether the £25 price applies across all markets. It also does not include a product number, exact width, base dimensions, power or battery details, cable length, energy consumption, or whether the lights can be replaced.
Although Ideal Home says the tree can be used indoors and outdoors and describes it as stainless steel, the report does not spell out an outdoor-use rating, weather limits, or setup requirements. Shoppers should consult IKEA’s current product listing and instructions before choosing a location. The source also provides no independent testing or evidence for claims about lifespan or performance.

Check IKEA’s Current Listing
Readers considering the STRÅLA can check IKEA’s current listing for stock, price and full specifications, including the permitted outdoor setup and electrical details. Those details may be more useful than the general dimensions when deciding whether the tree will fit a particular corner or patio.
Ideal Home’s report does not announce a future product update or provide a date for a next development. The immediate next step for shoppers is to verify availability with IKEA before buying; the cited £25 price and product description reflect the source report and could change.
